Cedar Bluff teen charged in murder of Dekalb county woman

Cherokee County investigators  have arrested a Cedar Bluff teenager in connection with the death of a DeKalb County woman.

Officers arrested 17-year-old Riley J. Henderson for the capital murder of Sarah Jane Ortiz.

Friends and family reported the 20-year-old Valley Head woman missing on July 16 after she failed to return home on July 14.

A fisherman found Ortiz's body in Weiss Lake in Leesburg on July 18th.  Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said the Leesburg Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, DeKalb-Cherokee County District Attorney's Office, and the Etowah County Sheriff's Office are involved in the ongoing investigation.
