A half-slate of games in the Alabama High School Athletic
Association’s new 11-week, 10-game format found two top-ranked teams opening
the season with losses. The first high school football rankings of the season
were released today with several area schools making the top ten. In Class 7a, the Gadsden City Titans win
against Auburn earned them a spot in the top ten and number 9.
In Class 5 a Central of Clay County is ranked number
4 with Guntersville at Number 8 and
Etowah at Number 9.
In Class 4a,
Oneonta came in at number 5 followed by saks in the nuber 6 spot.
In Class 3a
Piedmont is ranked number 3 with Walter Wellborn at 5 and Glencoe and
number 8.
In class 2a, Fyffe is ranked at number 2 and in class
1a Cedar bluff is at number 7 and Ragland at
number 9 in the poll.
