Marijuana field discovered in Clay county



Officials in  Clay County destroyed 113 marijuana plants on Tuesday.
A pilot with the Alabama Department of Public Safety's Aviation Unit spotted marijuana growing in a Clay County field just north of Lineville.
According to the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board, the plants ranged in size from three feet to more than 13 feet in height. ABC Board spokesman Dean Argo said There are no suspects at this time,.
The ABC Board claims that depending on where the marijuana is spotted and the size of the field, members of the ERAD team often locate and cut the plants immediately.
The ABC Board says agents assigned to the Moonshine Task Force are responsible for investigating tips and developing leads.
