City of Weaver approves Tax Incentives for new grocery store

In an effort to entice business development in their city the Weaver city council Tuesday approved a tax incentive for new owners of a vacant building on Main Street.  The incentive approved by a 4 to 1 vote will give the incentive for Discount foods toward remodeling expenses for the business which will total 100 thousand dollars over five years.  Weaver Mayor Wayne Willis said the incentive will help on the cost of getting the building, vacated in 2005, up to code. Willis said the money would include a complete remodeling of the building’s interior and the construction of a new parking lot. The first payment for the incentive will come in October 2014.
