Georgia man drowns at Little River Canyon



Authorities say a 19-year-old Rome, Georgia man drowned at Little River Canyon National Preserve on Lookout Mountain on Saturday.   According to the Dekalb County sheriff's department ,  a caller reported that he and his friend were swimming at the Hippy Hole, when his friend went under and never came back up.  Fischer Rescue Squad divers located 19-year old Ricardo Perez from Rome, Georgia in nine feet of water . The rescue personnel used a low angle haul system to get the victim to the top of the bluff line. Hippy Hole is about a mile downstream from the main falls.  The incident happened just before 8 p.m. Saturday evening.  The name of the victim has not been released.
