Search underway in Blount county for 19 year old missing on rafting trip

A massive search is underway today in Blount county for a 19 year old University of Alabama student missing on the warrior river near Locust Fork.  Blount county EMA director Max Armstrong said today they are bringing in more manpower as they search for the 19 year old..   Crews are searching the Warrior River in two different locations, King's Bend and Swan Bridge.  The search began Wednesday evening after a group of people were on the Warrior River on rafts. Some people lost their rafts and the group found that one of numbers was missing. Around 6 p.m., crews began their search.   Larry Staton, has confirmed the missing girl is his neice,  19-year-old Alyssa Huffstutler, a junior at the University of Alabama.   Crews are continuing their search.  EMA director Max Armstrong said it is not uncommon for people missing of the river to show up hours or days later after making in out of the river and walking until they found a road.  The Warrior river is a popular white water rafting destination in north Alabama.
