One victim identified in cherokee county accident

Authorities in Cherokee county have positively identified one of the three bodies recovered from a submerged pickup truck in Weiss lake last Thursday as that of a Piedmont man.  Cherokee County Coroner Broderick Smith, said that 41-year old Bobby DeWayne Hyatt of Piedmont has been identified as one of the three victims. Authorities are still waiting for the remainting  two bodies, a man and a woman, to be identified.  The bodies were found last Thursday evening after a fisherman called to report finding a pickup truck in the lake near County Road 31. According to reports, the small Dodge truck was already covered in algae and was reportedly found upside down.  Alabama State Troopers are investigating the discovery and, so far, say it was the result of a traffic accident.
