RMC to open clinic in Piedmont

Anniston based Regional Medical Center  has announced plans to open a clinical care clinic in the city of piedmont this summer, expanding it’s reach to northernmost Calhoun county.  The hospital has announced a partnership with the Piedmont Healthcare Authority to develop the clinic, which will be constructed adjacent to the Piedmont Nursing Home. RMC CEO David McCormack says The new facility will be staffed with a physician, at least one nurse practitioner, as well as other nurses and office staff. It will offer a range of services, including treatment for general ailments such as colds and treatment for more urgent matters.  Piedmont residents currently have to travel to Jacksonville, Anniston or Gadsden for medical treatment. RMC recently expanded to Jacksonville, where it bought the hospital there in December, as well as to Talladega, where it opened a clinic; it has plans to open facilities in Weaver and Roanoke.
