Gadsden police have arrested Two
more teenagers charging them with murder in the shooting death of Gadsden City
High School student Anthony Hale Jr. Authorities
expect another arrest soon, Gadsden Police Capt. Paul Cody said. Cody said 18 year old Montarious Jarrod Hill,
of Anniston, was charged Wednesday with murder and 18 year old Darius
Keiseankemp Carter, of Anniston, was charged Monday with murder in connection
to Hale’s March 14 death. Three people already are in custody, charged with
murder. Hill is being held in the Etowah
County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond. Carter was being held in the
Anniston City Jail and was expected to be transferred Monday to Etowah County.
He will have a $100,000 cash bond. Hale
was shot in the back of the head outside Club Status on Broad Street shortly
after midnight March 14 and died at UAB Hospital. Three other people were shot
when suspects opened fire outside the club.
Cody said more charges are expected to be filed involving the other shootings. He said the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force
has been instrumental in the arrests and continue to search for the remaining
suspect. Earlier, 19 year old Robert
Sydariou Deanthony Thornton, 17 year old Johnnie Dunn, and 17 year old Deantae
Brown, 17, all of Anniston, were charged with murder. Each is being held on a
$100,000 cash bond. The identities of
three teenagers also shot that night are being withheld because of their ages.
One was shot in the leg, one was shot in the buttocks and one had graze
wounds. Gadsden detectives interviewed
dozens of witnesses and determined several fights broke out inside Club Status,
which eventually led management to close for the night.
