Etowah County murder trial continues

Susann Kutschenreuter

Testimony continues in the case of an Etowah County woman charged with killing her husband.  Neither side disputes that Susann Kutschenreuter fired the shots that killed her husband, David. However, Kutschenreuter's attorneys suggest it happened after years of abuse.  Investigators testified last week about her statements to the sheriff's office. They say she mumbled over and over, about "feeling dirty" and "wanting to take a bath," but said she couldn't because "the dishwasher is running."  Jurors were also shown autopsy photos on Friday. A state pathologist testified the victim died of multiple gunshot wounds. She said all three appeared to be at close range, with the gun only being held an inch or two away.
