Former Jail employee pleads guilty to harassment charges



Mitchell Dendy, former mayor of Sylvania and chief administrator for DeKalb County Jail, pleaded guiltyTuesday to three charges of harassment in connection with claims of sexual misconduct with female jail employees in 2012.   Dendy entered a guilty plea before DeKalb County Circuit Judge Randall Cole on three counts of harassment, one for each of his accusers, who were not named. None of the accusers were inmates. Dendy was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a $100 fine for each of the three counts plus court costs,. The sentences are to run consecutively but were suspended for 24 months.
