New trial date to be set for Anniston man

Terence Allen

A new trial date is expected to be set this week for a 39 year old Anniston man accused of stabbing a co-worker to death in 2010.  Circuit court Judge Bud Turner is expected to set the new trial date this week after declaring a mistrial in the case Friday morning.  Terence Allen is accused of stabbing Dimir Burton, to death on September 14th 2010 at the car exchange on Quintard avenue where both men worked.  Judge Turner had ordered the jurors not to do any research outside their deliberations, but one juror apparently accessed the Internet on his smartphone. This action prompted the judge to declare a mistrial in the case.  Allen remains free on bond pending a new trial.
