Gadsden police investigating shots fired at apartment complex



Gadsden police are investigating Shots being fired Thursday night at an East Gadsden apartment complex.   Gadsden police say that no one was injured.  Police were called to the Brookville Apartments on West Air Depot Road early Thursday morning after shots had been fired. The shooter said two men with ski masks, one carrying a gun, were trying to rob him. He said he fired the shots in self defense. Police found the gun inside an apartment under a love seat. The report said seven shell casings were recovered at the scene and bullets hit at least three apartments and two cars. One of the stray rounds that entered the apartment destroyed a TV, while another caused about $3,500 in damage to one of the vehicles.  27 year old Joseph Graham, a resident in the apartments said the commotion woke him up. He said he was first awakened by the sound of someone trying to break into his house. Graham said he tried to go back to bed but when he laid down, he heard seven to eight shots. No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
