Anniston school bus driver charged

An Anniston School  bus driver has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge in connection with a fight between two Anniston Middle School students on a bus last week..
57 year old Larita Montgomery,  of Anniston was arrested Monday on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and was released on bond the same day.
Cathy Finley, the grandmother of a sixth-grade boy involved in the altercation, said Tuesday that she wasn’t satisfied with the charge.
Finley said she met with school officials Thursday, who told her they were concerned the driver did not file the required paperwork with the school to report the fight.
Montgomery said school bus drivers are told not to touch children. She said that on Wednesday, she told the two students to stop fighting and to take separate seats, which they did.
She added that she had been recovering from eye surgery at the time of the incident and was told not to lift her arms above her head.
Montgomery also said that she has had repeated behavior problems with the boy involved in Wednesday’s fight.
