Veterans day parade returns to Gadsden

A Veterans Day parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. Nov. 5, following Gadsdens Patriots Day luncheon, an event held annually to honor veterans and patriots.
The Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Association organizes the Patriots Day luncheon, at which veterans and patriots are inducted into the Patriots Hall of Honor.
The Chamber of Gadsden & Etowah County will sponsor the parade, along with the Patriots Association.
Anyone who has a military vehicle or an antique car, preferably a convertible, is encouraged to contact The Chamber or the Patriots Association to make arrangements to participate.
Schools will be dismissed early and bands from many high schools will participate.
The parade will begin at Eighth and Broad streets and will end at First and Broad.
The deadline to register is Oct. 24. Parade applications can be picked up or dropped off at The Chamber, at the intersection of First and Walnut streets in Gadsden.
For more information, contact The Chamber at 256-543-3472.
