High School Football



In high school football,  Number 1 ranked Leeds rolled into Piedmont Thursday night and rolled out of town with a 42 to 18 win over  sixth ranked  Piedmont  handing the Bulldogs their second consecutive loss in as many weeks.  Several big rivalries are on tap for tonight as Glencoe just off a win against Piedmont last week will travel to Hokes Bluff.  The  undefeated Gadsden City Titans will play host to non region opponent Hewett Trussville tonight in a game you can hear on Thunder 99.3.  Saks travels to Weaver tonight in a game you can hear on WFZX the fox, while the Cleburne County Tigers travel to Georgia to take on the Haralson County Rebels, special airtime for that broadcast is 6 this evening on Thunder 92.7.  The Etowah Blue Devils have the week off.  Other key games in the area tonight include Munford at Lincoln, Gaylesville at Gaston ,Geraldine at Sardis, Vestavia Hills at Oxford, Jacksonville Christian at Alabama School for the Deaf, Moody at Wellborn, Pleasant Valley at White Plains, Ragland at Cedar Bluff, Cherokee County at Ohatchee, Butler at Jacksonville,  Fayetteville at Donoho and West End will travel to Coosa Christian tonight for their first ever meeting.  Kickoff times for all of those games slated for 7 this evening.
