Jacksonville school plans ready for state approval

After spending five hours reviewing plans for a new Elementary School, the Jacksonville City School Board is now sending the  plans to Montgomery for approval.
The Tuesday meeting, which included school officials, engineers, architects and city department heads, assured school administrators that the plans  were ready for review.  T
he architectural firm working on the project, is expected to send the plans to the Alabama Building Commission, whose job it is to ensure plans adhere to state construction codes.
the school system hopes to have the commission's approval within the month and to open the project up for bid by November. If that happens, officials say builders may begin work in January.
