Hokes Bluff man charged in weekend hunting accident shooting

A Hokes Bluff man has been charged in connection with a hunting accident that sent a Gadsden doctor to the hospital with gun shot wounds to both his legs. 
44 year old Mark Shaw Hunt, is charged with a felony count of first-degree assault after he allegedly shot Dr. Christopher Clark while hunting in a field in the Ball Play community last weekend. The incident happened in a field off of North Lane, where deputies responded to a report of an accidental shooting around 5 p.m.  Clark was later airlifted to a Birmingham hospital.
According to the sheriff's office, Hunt was charged in the shooting for hunting after dark. Authorities said that he was aware of Clark's presence in the field in which he was hunting prior to the incident. Hunt is currently being held in the county detention center on a $10,000 bond.
 Clark
remains in the hospital recovering from his injuries.
