Oxford Homocide update

Oxford police said Monday that a person of interest in a double homicide case is the man who found the victims.
Officers arrested 21-year-old Jamie Gomez on Saturday for tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana.
Captain L.G. Owens said investigators found the bodies of a man and woman Friday night at the Super 8 motel on Highway 21.  He identified the victims as 23-year-old Misty Renea Lopez of Oxford and 24-year-old Cordeira Romye Maxwell of Ohatchee.
Owens said Gomez contacted a friend and said Lopez and Maxwell were dead. 
Police said that Gomez made the phone call to another individual who in turn called Oxford police.
Investigators said Gomez was an acquaintance slash friend of the individuals.  Investigators believe Gomez  had been with the victims on and off throughout the day.
Police have not released the cause of death as the investigation is ongoing.
the victims checked into the motel about 10 days before their death.  They recently changed rooms.
