Officials believe Natural Causes to be involved in two separate weekend traffic deaths




Etowah County Coroner Elect Michael Head reports that A 74-year-old Steele man died in a one-vehicle traffic accident Friday near the 188-mile marker on U.S. Highway 11 North.
   based on what witnesses told him.
Head said James Dunston was driving a 1996 Ford Taurus about 11:10 a.m. when witnesses said the car just veered to the right, off the road, and hit a tree. Head said It appears some sort of medical event might have caused Dunston’s vehicle to leave the roadway,
 Dunston was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Alabama State Troopers responded to a traffic accident on Alabama 21 late Saturday afternoon in which it’s believed the driver died from a medical condition before crashing.
According to an email from public information officer Sgt. Steve Jarrett, troopers at 4:40 p.m. responded to a single-vehicle crash at mile marker 269 just past Germania Springs, north of Jacksonville.
The driver, whose name was not available, was dead at the scene. Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown said that based on information he received about the accident, he believed death was due to a natural cause, resulting in the crash.
