Two killed in Thursday and Friday accidents




Authorities in St. Clair Country report that A 15-year-old boy was killed Thursday night when he apparently fell off the back of a pickup truck.
St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell identified the victim as Hunter Lee Sligh, a student at Springville High School.
 Russel said It appeared  he died of head trauma . The teen was pronounced dead in an area off of Washington Valley Road in Springville.
Russell said the victim’s body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville to determine the exact cause of death. The Birmingham post of Alabama State Troopers is investigating the accident.
The school system arranged for counselors to be at Springville High throughout the day Friday for the benefit of students and teachers.
A Cropwell man died after being seriously injured in a Talladega County car accident Friday night. State troopers have identified the victim as as 30 year old Michael Taylor James.

Troopers say James' car hit another car he was passing on Plant Road near Childersburg around 9:40 p.m. Friday. His car then left the road and flipped. James was taken to UAB Hospital where he died.
The other driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
