Woman serving time from Calhoun County escapes from Birmingham work release center

Alabama Department of Corrections officers are hunting are an escaped inmate.  44 year old Tracy Renee Thomas,  escaped from the Birmingham Work Release Center Tuesday afternoon.  Corrections officials say she left the work release area around 3:00 p.m.Thomas was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt with the words "Fish Market" on the right side.  She was also in blue jeans and white tennis shoes.  Thomas stands about 5'8" and has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes.  She is listed as weighing 160 pounds and has several tattoos.Thomas was jailed in Calhoun County for criminal possession of a forged instrument.
