Talladega police investigating shots fired into Elk's Lodge

Talladega Police are investigating a shooting into the Elk’s Lodge early Sunday morning.
Police say no one was hurt but that a wall of the building was damaged.
Talladega officers responded to a shots fired call at the club on Long Street at about 2 a.m., but the shooter was already gone by the time they arrived.
It appears that five or six shots were fired into the club from outside. Investigators found impacts and bullet fragments on a wall inside the club and shell casings in the parking lot.
Although the shooter was not present when officers arrived, another person did come out of the club while they were interviewing managers and began threatening to kill people. When an officer asked if he needed assistance, the man laughed and moved to another area of the property.
The same man later began yelling and using profanity, eventually asking to be arrested. Officers taking him into custody confiscated a metal pole that the man had been carrying in his shorts. It was not immediately clear what, if anything, the intended use of the pole was.
The man was charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, both of which are misdemeanors. Anyone with information on the shooting should contact the Talladega Police Department at 256-362-4508 or call the city’s anonymous tip line at 256-299-0011.
