Anniston man convicted on attempted murder

A Calhoun County jury found an Anniston man guilty Wednesday of attempted murder in a 2013 Hobson City shooting.  27 year old Brandon Omar Williams  was found guilty of shooting Kendrell Williams at a home on Wilkerson Drive in Hobson City the night of May 19, 2013.  Prosecutors say that when Kendrell Williams, of Eastaboga, answered the door at the home. Brandon Williams mistook him for the home’s owner, with whom Brandon Williams had a disagreement, and shot him. Kendrell Williams lost his right eye and part of his nose in the shooting.  During the trial the victim identified Williams’ clothing and his voice, while another witness who was at the home the night of the shooting also identified Williams as the man who fired the gun. the prosecutions key piece of evidence was a video recorded at the Calhoun County Jail when the defendant told a visiting family member that he did shoot the victim and would do so again if he could go back in time.
