Corey Jay Gardner
Cindy Ann Jones
Ayla Oneeia Spears

Authorities in Talladega County arrested Three people on felony drug charges Friday afternoon following a traffic stop and execution of misdemeanor warrants.  22 year old Corey Jay Gardner,  and 25 year old Cindy Ann Jones, both of Talladega, and 26 year old Ayla Oneeia Spears, of Ranburn, were each charged with manufacture of a controlled substance in the first degree, chemical endangerment of a child, possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.  Gardner, Spears and Jones were all riding in the same truck Friday afternoon when they were spotted by a Talladega police officer, who knew Gardner had outstanding warrants for failure to appear and violating a protection from abuse order. The truck was eventually pulled over.  Gardner appeared to be under the influence when the officer spoke with him. Consent to search the vehicle was granted, and components of a methamphetamine lab were discovered both inside the truck and in the back.  Methamphetamine was also recovered.  There was a small child strapped into a car seat inside the vehicle.  The 3 year old child was taken into custody by the Talladega County Department of Human Resources, and was eventually given to his father.
