A 22 year old Gadsden man remains in the Talladega county
jail after being arrested over the weekend on rape charges at a campground near
Talladega Superspeedway.

Pedro, has been charged with first-degree rape after campers saw something
suspicious and investigated it.
Investigators said between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning, other
campers heard noises that alarmed them and checked it out. After a brief foot
chase, the campers caught Pedro and held him until authorities arrived. The
victim was taken to the Infield Care Center at the speedway and then to a
Birmingham hospital for a rape evaluation. Pedro remains in the Talladega
County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
