Interviews set to begin for Gadsden State president finalists

Interviews for the candidates for the job of president at Gadsden State Community College  are set for Wednesday.  Alabama Community College System Chancellor Mark Heinrich will conduct one-hour interviews with each candidate in the Browder Hall Auditorium on the Wallace Drive campus. Candidates also will face hour-long question-and-answer sessions in the Helderman Hall Auditorium.  Both the chancellor interviews and the Q-and-A sessions will be open to the public.  The goal is to hire a new president by June 1st.  Gadsden State’s presidency has been vacant since Ray Staats resigned last year after a majority of the school’s staff and faculty voted they had no confidence in him. William Blow has served as interim president since December. The five finalists are Hank Dunn of Weaverville, N.C.; Paul Gasparro of Beachwood, Ohio; Valerie Richardson of Anniston; James Rook of Mena, Ark.; and William Rule of Acworth, Ga.
