Two women charged with attempted murder in Gadsden attack

Gadsden police say a brutal fight in Emma Sansom Homes Thursday sent two people to the hospital and four to jail on felony charges..  19 year old Naudia Najavia Croft, and 41 year old Cherisa Diane Huntley, both of Gadsden, were both charged with attempted murder. 24 year old Derrick Lashun Ray, of Killeen, Texas, and 21 year old Shundrael Quinshae Croft, of Gadsden, were both charged with first-degree assault.  Police responded Thursday night to a call about the fight near the intersection of 23rd Street and White Avenue. 21 year old Cora Chasity Rice,  told police she saw people attacking 19 year old Kidd Precious, and tried to intervene to prevent them from stabbing her.  She said when she tried to get them off of Precious, she was hit in the head with a baseball bat, cut across her chest and punched in the side of the head. Precious was stabbed in the back several times as well.  Rice was taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Precious was taken to Riverview Regional Medical Center. Ray and Shundrael Croft have both been released from the Etowah County Detention Center. Naudia Croft and Huntley are being held on $30,000 bond each.
