Anniston police investigating theft

Anniston police are  investigating the reported theft $3,640 from the Nelford Inn on South Wilmer Street in Anniston.  According to the complaint filed with police,  a former inn employee collected two weeks’ worth of rent from guests and kept the money. Management discovered the money missing on June 21 but did not file a report until Tuesday. Captain Alan George said a suspect has been identified by inn management and could face felony charges of first-degree theft.
