Anniston police are investigating the theft of a collectable
doll from an Anniston residence over the weekend. An Anniston
man reported his James Brown collectable doll was stolen from his home
Saturday night. Police say that someone
entered the victim’s house on West 20th Street around 8:10 p.m. through the
living room window. Police say the
victim’s neighbor saw the suspect exiting the house through the front door with
the doll . The victim told police the
suspect was an acquaintance of his. The victim said he allowed her to
occasionally stay with him, but that she did not live with him. Captain Alan George said if someone enters
the residence of someone whom they have been involved with and takes from them
it is classified as domestic violence.The doll is valued at $500. The victim
said Saturday he will press charges against the suspect, who could face felony
charges of domestic violence in the second degree.
