Gadsden police investigating weekend arson

Gadsden fire investigators along with Gadsden police are investigating a satuday morning arson at a residence on Alabama Avenue.  Firefighters and police were called near 2:30  Saturday morning by a 60 year old woman who reported  someone set her house  on fire. The woman said she woke up and could smell gasoline. She walked outside her residence and noticed a small portion of the house was on fire. She called the fire department and they put the small fire out. Officials said it appeared that there had been attempts to start a fire in several different locations around the residence. The investigation is ongoing.
