The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two men
early Friday morning in Gadsden on heroin trafficking charges. 26 year old Tommie Frank Wright, and 30 year old Gregory Tyron Pearson, are
both charged with drug trafficking . agents allegedly recovered 10 grams of heroin in a vehicle
they were in between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. Friday morning. Wright is also facing charges of first-degree
possession of marijuana and distribution of a controlled substance. Pearson
also was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana. Authorities said an investigation led them to
Wright and Pearson and they made a traffic stop once they saw their vehicle.
After a small chase around the Tuscaloosa Avenue area, the vehicle was pulled
over on Spring Street, and both men taken into custody without further
incident. Both men were taken to the
Etowah County Detention Center, where Wright is being held on $55,000 bond and
Pearson on $51,000 bond.
