After becoming the first city in the area to gain Sunday
alcohol sales, the Anniston city council is now considering A temporary halt to
the opening of new bars and clubs in the downtown area. Mayor Vaughn Stewart told the city council
during a Monday night work session that the moratorium would give the city a
chance to develop an entertainment district.The council discussed instituting a
3-month moratorium on new bars and clubs downtown. The council plans to vote on
the moratorium at its regular meeting next M Stewart said
the city wants to create a cluster master plan for the downtown area. Through
