Anniston police are searching for a suspect who stole a car
at gunpoint in the parking lot of an Anniston gas station Monday. State troopers recovered the vehicle later
that day in Talladega County. Police say
the suspect stole the victim’s 2006 Toyota Corolla and prescription
medications, including painkillers, that were in the glove compartment. The robbery occurred between 3:30 a.m. and 4
a.m. Monday morning in the parking lot of a gas station on West 15th Street. The victim told investigators that she and
her 15-year-old son were waiting for one of her son’s friends when a man walked
up to the car brandishing a handgun. the
man pointed the gun at her and told her and her son to get out of the car. The
two then walked to their home on Oak Lane before filing a police report. Troopers found the car damaged beyond repair.
