Gadsden police are investigating the Tuesday night shooting of a A
30-year-old man on Windsor street. A
resident told police a man came to his residence just before 11 Tuesday night.,
waking him up. The man said he had exited his car about that time and saw an
unknown man open fire on him. He ran across the street and asked for help,
stating he had been shot in the left buttock and the right thigh, with the
first wound exiting his left hip.
Witnesses said they heard four to seven shots and a pause before hearing
four to five more. Three witnesses said they saw another man running away from
the scene, stopping from time to time and holding his stomach as if he were in
pain. They described that man as a 6-foot, heavyset black man with a beard,
wearing a black shirt and dark jeans.
Police recovered a pistol from the Windsor Street resident, who said the
shooting victim had asked him to hold it. The semi-automatic Taurus had an
empty magazine with the slide locked to the rear, as if someone had fired it
until it was empty. Gadsden police are
investigating.
