Jacksonville police are searching today for three black
males who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on
highway 21 near 9:15 this morning. The
three fled the bank and abandoned their getaway vehicle on Church Ave soon after the robbery
and changed vehicles. An additional person was driving another vehicle and
picked up the others. Jacksonville police say the abandoned getaway vehicle had been reported stolen in Gadsden tuesday to Gadsden Police. Chief Tommy Thompson said they are currently reviewing surveillance video from surrounding stores in hopes of possibly obtaining a description of the second getaway vehicle. Thompson said that a cellphone taken from a customer at the bank was traced and found alongside highway 78 west. Police are asking anyone with information to
contact Jacksonville police at 256-435-6448.
