Anniston police are searching for suspects in connection
with the robbery of A 16-year-old girl Tuesday night. The victim told police she went to pick up a
friend on Elm Street around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night. And that The friend
encouraged her to buy drugs. The girl said
she refused and was approached by several men who demanded she buy
drugs. The girl then said the suspect
took the keys to the her 2002 red Ford Focus, then pointed a gun at her and
demanded money. A second suspect jumped in the back of the car and grabbed the
victim. The suspect with the gun slapped
the teen’s face with his hand, and she handed over $30. The men then drove away in the victims car,
which police recovered abandoned on
Draper Avenue a short time later. The victim told police she left her cell
phone in the car, but it was not inside when police found the vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
