Rumble on Noble in Anniston may be forced to relocate

Anniston’s annual Rumble on Noble event may be forced to move from the downtown Anniston streets to a city park.  During a Tuesday council work session, Anniston Mayor Vaughn Stewart suggested to the event organizer Brian Farley, that they relocate the annual motorcycle-themed event to Zinn Park. In the formal meeting, the council postponed a request for a special event alcohol permit and a request to close Noble Street for the August event.  Rumble on Noble, in its ninth year, draws an average of about 2,000 people each year to Noble Street, where organizers rope off the street between 10th and 14th streets and charge a $15 admission to the concerts, vendors and other events that take place during the rumble.  Many downtown business owners have complained that the event is bad for their business making it difficult for customers to get to their downtown stores.  Randy Snyder, another organizer of the event, said that moving to Zinn Park wouldn’t be feasible.
