Two teens arrested in Gadsden Robberies

Gadsden Police have arrested two juveniles who are believed to have been involved in a string of robberies on Saturday.  Three Hispanic males reported being assaulted and robbed in the Stillman Ave. / Slusser Ave. area in separate incidents around the same time.  The first victim was a 16-year old who claimed he was attacked by a group of six males in his front yard in the 1100 block of Stillman Ave. He says he was punched in the face, and then the suspects went through his pockets stealing $50 and his passport.  A 32-year-old man was attacked only a few houses down.  He reported to police that he watched a neighbor being robbed, and that the group came to his home and shot a handgun into the air.  He said they hit him in the head with a gun, raided his pockets and took his cell phone.  The third victim claimed he was walking on Slusser Avenue near Stillman when he was approached.  The 14-year-old boy says he was hit in the head with a pistol before the six suspects dug through his pockets.  Officers were led to the home of two suspects, where they found a handgun and a large amount of money inside a closet.   A 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were taken into custody.  According to detectives, the 17-year-old will be held as an adult with a $50,000 cash bond.  The younger suspect had a juvenile court appearance at 4 p.m.  Police are still investigating to identify the other offenders.
