
Anniston police have charged a Gadsden man with depositing
three stolen checks at a local credit union in April.
29 year old Albert Nicholis Maye III, has
been charged with three counts of felony second-degree possession of a forged
instrument.
Anniston police allege
that
Maye stole three checks totaling $632 from a victim in Gadsden. The
checks were deposited at AOD Federal Credit Union on Greenbrier Dear Road in
April.
Police say
that
Maye later went to another AOD and
withdrew the money.
Authorities say that
Maye has
been in the Calhoun County
jail
since June on charges from the Oxford Police Department and Calhoun County
Sheriff’s Office. Records show Maye was previously charged with four counts of
second-degree assault and obstructing justice using a false ID.
