Gadsden police say a 44 year old Gadsden man was allegedly
attacked Wednesday by another man with a machete. According to police the incident occurred
near 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at a residence on Merryhill Avenue. The victim
told police that he went to the house to
pick up an iPod a friend purchased. He said the
resident, a 36-year-old man, became enraged, picked up a machete and
swung it at him several times before stabbing him in the nose. The man said he ran back to his car and
jumped into the back seat, but the attacker followed him and used the machete
to damage the car before going back inside the house. Detectives arrived, questioned the involved
parties and arrested the suspect. The investigation is continuing and charges
may be pending
