Boaz woman charged with chemical endangerment

A 29 year old Boaz woman has been arrested in Etowah County and charged with chemical endangerment of a child.  Miranda Dawn Wheeler, has been charged with one felony count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed. Wheeler tested positive for amphetamine, benzodiazepines and methadone. The baby, who was born in Etowah County in late March, also tested positive for the same drugs.  Wheeler was taken to the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on a $25,000 surety bond.
