Attalla burglary arrests

Two Attalla have been arrested by Attalla Police on felony charges stemming from two burglaries in October.  21 year old Jacob Tyler Machen,  and 19 year old Dustin Timothy Hill, have been charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, one count of first-degree theft, one count of third-degree theft and one count of third-degree criminal mischief.  The pair were arrested after confessing to breaking into Etowah High School and Machine Products, which is on Pleasant Valley Road, in mid-October.  Police say the men stole some plant cloning equipment from the high school and may have been planning to use it to grow marijuana. He said the two took a heavy-duty work truck from Machine Products and broke a vending machine inside the business as well.  Both Machen and Hill were taken to the Etowah County Detention Center and later were released on $12,500 bond.
