An Attalla woman is currently behind bars after she
allegedly stole over $2,500 from an elderly person that was in her care. 38 year old Jennifer Nicole Rosson, has been
charged with one count of financial exploitation of an elderly person, which is
a Class B felony in Alabama. She remains in the Etowah county detention center,
where she is being held on a $5,000 property bond. Authorities say that Rosson
transferred money from the victim's savings account into a checking account,
allowing her access to make cash withdrawals. The felony charge against Rosson
comes under the Protecting Alabama's Elders Act, which went into effect in
August 2013.
