Southside woman charged with chemical endangerment

The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a pregnant woman after she failed a drug test.  27 year old Amanda Leigh Johnson, of Southside, was arrested and is charged with one felony count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed.  Johnson was arrested after failing a drug test mandated by Etowah County Court Referral Office. Johnson is three and a half months pregnant and tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. She is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bond.
