According to authorities in Etowah County, an inmate escaped
work detail on Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff Todd Entrekin says 41-year-old Robert Wesley James
of Attalla walked away from the Etowah County judicial building around 4:45
p.m. Wednesday.
James was in jail on property crimes, burglary, theft and a
misdemeanor drug crime.
Entrekin says James drove away in a county maintenance
truck. The truck is described at a white Ford F-150 single cab with a blue
county license plate.
