Gadsden restaurant damaged from Saturday morning fire

An East Gadsden woman out for a walk Saturday morning noticed a fire at China Buffet on East Meighan Boulevard and called firefighters to battle the blaze.
Firefighters spend about 45 minutes working to control the fire.
Officials say  it was about 9 a.m. when a woman who lives across the street from the restaurant noticed the fire. According to the restaurants owner firefighters believe the electrical system caused the fire.
Fire officials said  the damage to the restaurant was minor, mostly around the door and in the roof. Fire officials said  that the building had three layers of roofing from changes made to the structure over the years, and the fire started between the roofs.
