Vincent man indicted in May murder

Clifton Garynel Robertson
A 26 year old  Vincent man has been indicted for murder in connection with an incident in Childersburg in May.  Clifton Garynel Robertson, of Fleming Road, was due to be arraigned by Circuit Judge Bo Hollingsworth on Tuesday. According to Assistant District Attorney Scott Brewer, Robertson filed a waiver of arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty.
Robertson is charged with killing 29 year old Steven Tawan Twymon, of Lee Road, on May 12 at a pool hall on Third Street in Childersburg.
Twymon was allegedly shot with birdshot from a shotgun. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Robertson was taken into custody the same night.
Childersburg Police Chief Doug Wesson said at the time that Robertson and Twymon had been involved in some sort of ongoing feud for more than a year. Part of that feud involved a woman, but it was not immediately clear if that lead to the shooting.
Robertson is being represented by attorney Mark Nelson and is currently out on a $100,000 bond.
If convicted, Robertson faces 20 to 99 years or life in prison.
