Man injured in Blount county glider crash



A glider crash in Blount County sent one man to the hospital Sunday evening.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. in Cleveland south of Alabama Highway 79 and 160.
Cleveland Police said the man, who is in his early 60's was learning how to glide.
They said he began to run to pick up momentum to take off in the air and lost his footing.
Police said the man fell on his head.
He was airlifted to a local hospital.
Authorities said he was alert and conscious when he left the scene
