Speedway Rape Case

22 year old Jimenez Miguel "Pedro" Pedro,  of Gadsden, was in a Talladega County Courtroom Tuesday to answer to charges of  two counts of rape in the first degree.  Pedro  filed a waiver of arraignment and entered pleas of not guilty Tuesday to both counts.

Pedro is accused of attacking a 21-year-old woman in the North Campgrounds at the Talladega Super Speedway on May 4, which was the Sunday of this year’s spring race.

The victim was initially treated at the Infield Care Center. The case was investigated by the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office.

Pedro is currently out of jail on a total bond of $250,000.

The two counts of rape against Pedro allege the use of force against the victim and that the victim was either physic

ally helpless or mentally incapacitated.
